WESTFIELD, Mass. — Tre Fletcher pitched a complete game, allowing three hits, as Portland cruised past host Westfield 8-0 in a winners’ bracket game at the Babe Ruth Baseball New England Regional for 14-year-olds on Sunday.

Will Snyder drove in two runs in the fifth inning to start the scoring. He scored on a sacrifice fly later in the inning.

Justin Ray and Ben Sawyer each had a pair of singles for Portland, which finished with 14 singles.

Portland has won three games and is the lone unbeaten team. It would have to lose twice Wednesday to not win the tournament.

Babe Ruth 15

AUGUSTA 2, CRANSTON, R.I. 1: Noah Bonsant pitched a complete game, allowing three hits, as Augusta finished pool play 2-1 to advance to the single elimination semifinals in Trumbull, Connecticut.

Bonsant gave up a run in the bottom of the first inning on two singles and a wild pitch.

Augusta tied it in the fourth on an RBI single by Jake Hendsbee and scored the winning run in the fifth on a single by Dylan Presby.

Augusta will play host Trumbull in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Monday.


LENDERS NETWORK 9, AERO HEATING AND VENTILATING 1: Taylor Reuillard hit two home runs and drove in four as Lenders Network (16-3) won at Greely Road Field in Cumberland.

Reuillard hit a solo home run in the third and added a two-run homer in the fifth.

Forrest Chadwick had a pair of doubles for Lenders, while Tyler Flaherty, Kyle Heath and Jake Glauser each had two hits.

Little League Softball 11-12

SCARBOROUGH 6, LYNDONVILLE, VT. 2: Bella Dickinson went 2 for 3 with three RBI as Scarborough beat Lyndonville, Vermont, in Bristol, Connecticut.

Scarborough, which lost its opening game in the tournament, will play Charlton, Massachusetts, at 1:30 p.m. Monday in an elimination game.

Scarborough scored five runs in the third inning. Sylvia Foley stoked the rally with a two-run double that drove home Jenna Giguere and Ryanne Cox. Dickinson followed with an RBI single.
