BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) — A man has been sentenced to six months in jail on several charges following a fracas last summer that erupted at a New Hampshire amusement park when his family was told they couldn’t carry their knives.
Joshua Perry was scheduled for trial Monday; instead he pleaded guilty to rioting and resisting arrest.
The 24-year-old Perry and his family tried to enter Canobie Lake Park in Salem last June, some with knives on their belts. Security said the knives were prohibited. Authorities say the family became increasingly belligerent after two police officers arrived, leading to physical confrontations that injured an officer.
Perry’s father, E. Alan Perry of Lyndon, Vermont, was given s six-month suspended sentence earlier this year.
