CUTLER – State police are investigating the death of a woman who was found earlier this week in Down East Maine.

Maine Warden Service Cpl. John MacDonald told the Sun Journal that the woman’s body was found Monday on the Cutler Coast Public Reserved Land.

Authorities didn’t identify the woman. State police officials couldn’t be reached for comment.

It’s unclear where on the public lands the woman’s body was found. Investigators didn’t say whether they suspect foul play.

The Cutler Coast property consists of more than 12,000 acres of blueberry barrens, woods and wetlands.
