PORTLAND — Akron broke open a 1-1 game with a seven-run third inning, as the RubberDucks downed the Sea Dogs 12-2 at Hadlock Field Friday.

The rally began with a run-scoring error, then was followed by a two-run single, a three-run home run by Ronny Rodriguez and a sacrifice fly.

Akron scored its 12 runs on eight hits and six walks, and was helped by three Sea Dogs errors.

Carlos Asuaje homered for the Sea Dogs, who fall to 43-76 on the season.
