A man apparently shot and killed himself while standing in front of the grave of his late wife early Saturday afternoon in South Portland, police said.
The incident was reported about 12:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery on Broadway.
South Portland police said an investigation is continuing, but no foul play is suspected.
The state medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, police said, and authorities were notifying family members.
