Maine author Helen Peppe presents her humorous novel, “Pigs Can’t Swim,” a collection of anecdotes about growing up the youngest of nine children on a backwoods Maine farm at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Raymond Village Library.

Peppe will be joined by Chris Lombard, an accomplished horse trainer/clinician and author of the recently released book, “Land of the Horses: A Story of a Lost Soul and a Life Found.” Lombard will share the personal journey that led him to write the book – and the healing that can come when humans and horses connect. The program will begin at 6:30.

There is no charge, but because of limited space, library officials ask those planning to attend to register by calling the library at 655-4283 or email sally.holt@raymondvillagelibrary.org.
