Leeann Leahy, who has served as president of The VIA Agency since 2012, has been appointed the Portland marketing and advertising firm’s next CEO.

Leahy succeeds John Coleman, who founded the agency in 1993 and has served as its chief executive since. Coleman will become chairman of the employee-owned agency, according to a news release from the firm.

“We hired Leeann away from Madison Avenue and New York City because she had a vision into what brands are looking for and what advertising professionals want in an employer, and under her leadership, The VIA Agency has grown into a coveted, creative destination for the nation’s top companies and the industry’s leading professionals,” Coleman said.

During her tenure, the agency has undergone year-over-year revenue growth, grown to over 110 employees and has added several noteworthy clients to its roster, including Facebook, Heinz, Marriott Autograph Series, Pacific Life, TD Ameritrade, Elite Airways, Golden Corral and Proximo Spirits.

Since 2012, The VIA Agency has been named in the top 10 of Ad Age’s Best Places to Work in 2014 and earned a spot on Hubspot’s Agency 100: Fastest Growing Agencies in 2013. Forbes included The VIA Agency in a list of 20 agencies “punching above their weight” in 2015.
