A Portland man who raped and molested an 8-year-old girl numerous times at a Scarborough motel in 2013 was sentenced Friday to serve 25 years in prison, according to Scarborough police.
Timothy M. Hunt, 29, was found guilty on July 30 after a three-day jury trial in the Cumberland County Courthouse in Portland of six counts of gross sexual assault and six counts of unlawful sexual touching.
According to a news release from the Scarborough Police Department, Hunt assaulted the girl at a motel on Route 1 between January and July 2013 while he was her caretaker.
Police investigated after receiving information from the victim’s mother.
Hunt was also sentenced to lifetime supervision after completing his prison term and must register for life as a sex offender.
