An Albion man apparently drowned Friday after his canoe capsized while he was fishing with his father.
David Fann, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene on Lovejoy Pond in Kennebec County around 2 p.m., Maine Warden Service Cpl. John MacDonald said.
MacDonald said the motion of David and Arville Fann tipped the canoe, sending both men into the water.
A nearby fisherman, Owen Pierce, helped the two to shore. Davin Fann was pronounced dead at the scene, MacDonald said.
The state Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to determine the cause of death.
There were no lifejackets in the canoe, MacDonald said.
