BRUNSWICK —Noah Nelson completed 28 of 43 passes for 328 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bowdoin to a 30-20 win over Hamilton in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game Saturday.

Andrew Tichy added 106 rushing yards on 28 carries for the Polar Bears (1-3), who led 15-0 at halftime. Hamilton (1-3) rallied with a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 15-13 heading into the final quarter.

Bowdoin extended its lead on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Nelson to Nick Vailas on the second play of the fourth quarter, and put the game out of reach on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Nelson to Bryan Porter four minutes later.

Stephen Griffin and Ken Skon also caught touchdown passes for the Polar Bears.

AMHERST 31, COLBY 13: Reece Foy completed 15 of 23 passes for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Jeffs (4-0) scored 17 straight points in the second quarter and held on for a win over the Mules (0-4) in a NESCAC game at Waterville.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Jeffs opened the scoring on a 26-yard field goal by Charlie Wall. Amherst added a touchdown pass by Roy and a 2-yard touchdown run by Kenny Adinkra to go into halftime with a 17-0 lead.

Colby got on the board with 9:37 left in the third quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by Jabari Hurdle-Price.

The Mules wouldn’t score again until a 2-yard touchdown run by Carl Lipani cut the deficit to 24-13 with 3:45 left in the game.

Hurdle-Price finished with 102 yards on 27 carries for the Mules.

HUSSON 49, BECKER 30: John Smith had a 70-yard touchdown run and finished with 197 yards on 39 carries and Joe Seccareccia completed 24 of 35 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Eagles (4-1, 3-0) as they never trailed in an Eastern Collegiate Football Conference win over the Hawks (3-3, 1-2) game at Bangor.

Becker scored four minutes into the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 28-24, but the Eagles quickly responded when Smith scored from 70 yards out on the opening play of the ensuing drive.

WESLEYAN 24, BATES 14: Lou Stevens rushed for 117 yards on 12 carries and Gernald Hawkins threw for 228 yards and a pair of touchdown for the Cardinals (3-1) as they erased two first-half deficits before pulling away from the Bobcats (0-4) in a NESCAC game at Middletown, Connecticut.

Bates received the opening kickoff and capped off a four-play, 68-yard touchdown drive on a 3-yard run by Ivan Reese just 1:13 into the game.

After a Wesleyan touchdown early in the second quarter, the Bobcats regained the lead on a 33-yard field goal by Grant DeWald with 3:52 left in the first half.

The Cardinals took the lead for good with 33 seconds left in the first half on a 9-yard touchdown pass from Hawkins to Mike Breuler.

The final Bates touchdown was a 5-yard pass from Patrick Dugan to Lani Eversage to cut the deficit to 24-16 with 1:50 left in the game.

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 58, MAINE MARITIME 35: Tyler Ward and Nick Connell combined to rush for over 300 yards and score three touchdowns for the Golden Bears (6-0, 3-0) as they scored 30 straight points to pull away from the Mariners (1-4, 0-3) in a New England Football Conference game at Castine.

James Ferrar rushed for 133 yards on 11 carries for the Mariners.
