ATKINSON, N.H. — If you had any doubts, Donald Trump is making it clear that his start in life was different from the average voter’s.
Trump says early in his career he got some help from his father – which he described as “a small loan of $1 million.”
Trump was speaking at a town hall event on NBC’s “Today” show Monday. The leading Republican presidential candidate and billionaire businessman was asked whether, with the exception of his family, he’d ever been told “no.”
Trump says all of his life he’s been told “no” and he “fought through it” to build his real estate empire.
As for help from his real estate developer father, Trump says he had to pay back that million-dollar loan with interest.
