DURHAM, N.H. — Marissa Shaw scored on a rebound with eight minutes left in regulation to lift the Maine field hockey team to a 3-2 win over the University of New Hampshire on Sunday.

Maine (17-3, 7-1 America East) set the school record for wins in the regular season. The victory was also the 100th of Coach Josette Babineau’s career.

Sydney Veljacic and Danielle Aviani also scored for the Black Bears, who enter the America East playoffs as the No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 California at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Albany, New York.

Meg Flatley scored twice for the Wildcats (8-10, 4-4).

WOMEN’S SOCCER

HARTFORD 1, MAINE 0: Elise Galipo scored in the second half as the Hawks (11-3-4) beat the Black Bears (9-4-2) in the America East semifinals in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Claudia Dube-Trempe had three saves for Maine.

ALBERTUS MAGNUS 2, ST. JOSEPH’S 1: Alex Zapata scored six minutes into overtime as the sixth-seeded Falcons (10-8) beat the third-seeded Monks (11-7-1) in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinal in Standish.

Johnny Thomas scored for St. Joseph’s. Matt Mueller tie it for Albertus Magnus.

Scott Benner had two saves for the Monks.

Cross country

MEN: Athens native Matt McClintock, a senior at Purdue, won the Big Ten championship in a meet-record time of 23 minutes, 18 seconds for eight kilometers, in Chicago.

WOMEN: Cheverus graduate Emily Durgin finished second in the American Athletic Conference championships with a time of 20:11.81 on the 6K course in Greenville, North Carolina.
