ALBANY, N.Y. — Danielle Aviani scored 4:18 into overtime to lift Maine to a berth in the America East field hockey championship game with a 2-1 win over Stanford on Saturday.

Maine (19-3), the No. 2 seed in the East, will play Albany, the No. 1 seed in the East, at noon Sunday. The Black Bears are in the conference championship game for the first time since 2006.

Katie Keyser gave Stanford the lead in the first half. Maine tied it on a goal by Katie Bingle in the 55th minute.

Emma Cochran and Emily Corbett combined for 11 saves for Maine.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 1, ENDICOTT 0: Hannah Buckley scored on a rebound with 10 minutes left in overtime as the Nor’easters (16-6) beat the Gulls (11-10) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference final in Biddeford.

UNE secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, which begins Wednesday.

Cheka Ventura had 10 saves for the fifth-seeded Gulls, while Holly Smith stopped eight shots for the top-seeded Nor’easters.

BOWDOIN 4, AMHERST 0: Rachel Kennedy scored three goals as the top-seeded Polar Bears (17-0) advanced to their sixth consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference championship game by shutting out the Jeffs (12-5) at Brunswick.

Emily McColgan added a goal and an assist, and Kelsey Mullaney and Kimmy Ganong each had an assist.

Emily Horwitz stopped 11 shots for Amherst, while Clara Belitz needed only three saves for the shutout.

The Polar Bears will face Middlebury at noon Sunday in Brunswick.

HUSSON 2, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 0: Taylor Shaw scored both goals as the top-seeded Eagles (8-9) won their second North Athletic Conference title, beating the Beavers (10-5) at Bangor.

Anne Marie Provenchal stopped seven shots for Husson, while Patty Smith had 11 saves for the Beavers.

SIMMONS 1, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Jenna Gagnon scored 10:05 into the game and the top-seeded Sharks (13-6) won the Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship with a victory over the Monks (13-6) at Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Megan Baker had a pair of saves for St. Joseph’s, while Brianna Rastello stopped three shots for Simmons.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

BOWDOIN 1, TRINITY 0: The second-seeded Polar Bears (12-4) got an own goal to beat the fourth-seeded Bantams (11-6) in a NESCAC semifinal at Williamstown, Massachusetts.

Bridget McCarthy had a pair of saves for Bowdoin, while Monica DiFiori stopped two shots for Trinity.

The Polar Bears will face host Williams at noon Sunday as they seek their first NESCAC championship.

FOOTBALL

BATES 31, BOWDOIN 0: The Bobcats (2-5) won their second consecutive Colby-Bates-Bowdoin title – a feat they hadn’t accomplished since 1967 – with a win over the Polar Bears (1-6) in Lewiston.

Patrick Dugan rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown, and passed for 114 yards and a touchdown for Bates. Mark Riley added a 27-yard touchdown reception, and Trevor Lyons returned an interception 50 yards for a score.

TUFTS 28, COLBY 10: Mike Rando returned the opening kickoff of the second half 85 yards for a touchdown as the Jumbos (5-2) defeated the Mules (1-6) at Waterville.

Chance Brady scored two touchdowns in the first half and finished with 212 yards rushing for Tufts. Alex Snyder completed 6 of 13 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown.

John Baron kicked a 37-yard field goal for Colby and Jabari Hurdle-Price had a 1-yard TD run.

SALVE REGINA 49, MAINE MARITIME 14: Sam Pascale rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns as the Seahawks (7-1, 5-1 NEFC) beat the Mariners (2-6, 1-5) in Middletown, Rhode Island.

James Ferrar had 101 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns for Maine Maritime.

Salve Regina’s Brandan Basil was 20 of 25 passing for 239 yards and three touchdowns.

NORWICH 20, HUSSON 17: The Cadets (6-3, 6-0 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference) scored 17 second-quarter points and held on to beat the Eagles (6-2, 5-1) at Northfield, Vermont.

Husson took the lead when it tackled Norwich running back Quincy Williams in the end zone for a safety in the first quarter. The Cadets answered with a 1-yard run by Nick Benoit and a field goal by Wesley Medeiros. Husson tied it on a 40-yard run by John Smith and a 2-point conversion pass from Joe Seccareccia to DJ Allen.

Massabesic High graduate Sam Chaves put Norwich back in front with a 1-yard touchdown run in the second half.

BOWDOIN 2, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 0: The sixth-seeded Polar Bears (9-3-4) jumped out to an early lead and held on to beat the No. 4 Camels (10-5-2) in a NESCAC semifinal at Middlebury, Vermont.

Hunter Miller and Cedric Charlier scored for Bowdoin, which will face No. 8 Wesleyan in the title game at noon Sunday.

Stevie Van Siclen made four saves for the Polar Bears.

Nia Kelly had 19 saves for Southern Maine, while Celeste Robert made 14 saves for the Cadets.

Todd Bannerman and Parker Sanderson scored in the first for Southern Maine. Alex Pantalone added a goal in the second period and Dymock scored in the third.

NORWICH 1, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 0: Kevin Salvucci scored the winner 2:51 into overtime with assists from Tyler Piacentini and Nick Pichette as the Cadets (3-0, 2-0 NEHC) outlasted the Nor’easters (1-1-1, 1-1) at Biddeford.

Mason Riley stopped 28 shots for the Nor’easters, while Ty Reichenbach had 27 saves for Norwich.
