NEW HIRES

• Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has hired Jeff Charland as vice president, regional relationship manager.

Charland, of Rockport, will work from the Rockland branch, 245 Camden St. He was previously with athenahealth as manager of credentialing services.

• Howard Strang recently joined Academy Mortgage as manager of its Portland branch.

Strang has more than 10 years of experience in the mortgage business. He brings experience as a loan originator for Pelican Capital, Arian & Associates and NE Moves Mortgage LLC.

• Jay Flower joined H.M. Payson in Portland as a portfolio manager.

Flower brings over 15 years of experience in portfolio management and investments. Most recently, he was a vice president and portfolio manager with Old Port Advisors in Portland.

• Emma Church joined Charter Oak Capital Management LLC as a registered investment adviser.

Church began her career as a financial adviser with Morgan Stanley. In her new role she will be a financial planner for the firm’s clients. She also serves as a member of the board of directors for Caring Unlimited.

• Peter Nicholson joined The First, N.A. as vice president, portfolio manager for First Advisors, operating as the investment management and trust division of the bank.

Nicholson most recently worked as a trust investment officer at Bar Harbor Trust Services in Ellsworth.

He lives in Bar Harbor and has an office there.

• Abraham Dugal joined Allen Insurance and Financial as a financial adviser.

Dugal, of Camden, worked in the financial services industry in the Boston area for almost 10 years before returning home to Maine. He previously worked for Cambridge Associates as director of U.S. investment operations.

• D. Robinson Snow joined Bangor Savings Bank as vice president and senior fiduciary officer of the bank’s wealth management group.

He has worked in the trust and financial services industry for over 25 years. He joined the bank from Concord Trust Co. in New Hampshire, where he managed its client relationship team.

• Scott Kenney was promoted to director of wealth management for Bangor Savings Bank.

Kenney, of Hampden, joined Bangor Savings in 1999 and has served in various roles in the wealth management department. Most recently, he was senior vice president and chief investment officer.

• cPort Credit Union recently promoted Theresa Bliss to senior member service representative.

Bliss joined cPort in 2013 as a member service representative with 21 years of banking experience.

• cPort also promoted Alicia Roberts to human resources coordinator.

Roberts began her career at cPort in 2013 as executive assistant.

• TD Bank has promoted Andrew Love to branch manager at 95 Main St. in Gorham.

Love, of Portland, has 10 years of retail banking experience. He joined TD Bank in 2011 as assistant branch manager at the Maine Mall Road location in South Portland. Most recently, he served in a similar role in the store at One Portland Square in Portland.

• Kennebunk Savings recently announced executive management promotions.

Dennis Byrd was promoted to senior executive vice president. Byrd, of Gorham, is the bank’s chief operating officer and oversees information technology strategy and deployment, corporate facilities administration, deposit services and credit administration. He has been with Kennebunk Savings since 2007.

Lynn Howe was promoted to executive vice president and named the chief sales and delivery officer. She began working for Kennebunk Savings in 1998 as a commercial lender and was later promoted to corporate lending team leader. She lives in Arundel.

Jill Peter was promoted to executive vice president. Peter, of Gorham, is the company’s chief risk officer. She joined Kennebunk Savings in 2009 as the bank’s senior vice president of credit administration.

• Katahdin Bankshares Corp., parent company of Katahdin Trust Co., announced the retirement of board director Robert Anderson, of Bangor.

Kimberley Niles, of Scarborough, was elected to fill Anderson’s unexpired term.

Niles, of Scarborough, is the managing director and chief financial officer for Constant Energy Capital Management in Portland. She is also a founder and consultant for VC CFO Services LLC, a financial consulting firm in Scarborough.

• Bath Savings Institution recently honored employees for their commitment to exceptional service and customer relationships at the 2015 Employee Recognition Night in Bath.

The winners include Julie Chew, of the South Portland office, who was recognized as an exceptional customer service representative.

• SIS Bank donated $450 to the Sanford-Springvale YMCA through its promotion, “SIS Touchdowns for Good” initiative.

In partnership with WBLM-FM of Portland, SIS Touchdowns for Good gives $50 to a local non-profit organization for every touchdown thrown by the Patriots’ quarterback throughout the regular season. The donation will support the YMCA’s efforts in developing the potential of kids, improving individual health and well-being, and giving back to and supporting our neighbors.
