EDMONTON, Alberta — Jordan Eberle scored the only goal in the shootout Wednesday night as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Boston Bruins 3-2, ending Boston’s five-game winning streak.

Oilers goalie Anders Nilsson stopped Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Krejci in the shootout. Nilsson finished with 38 saves.

The Bruins tied the game 2-2 when Zdeno Chara scored from in front with 3:21 left in the third period off a pass by Krejci.

Earlier in the third, Matt Hendricks broke a 1-1 tie with 10:38 left by tipping in Mark Letestu’s shot past goalie Tuukka Rask.

The Oilers held a 1-0 lead on Letestu’s short-handed goal midway through the second period.

The Bruins tied the game on Torey Krug’s goal with 1:33 left in the second period.

ISLANDERS 2, RANGERS 1: Kyle Okposo scored the only goal in the shootout to lift the Islanders in Brooklyn.

JETS 6, MAPLE LEAFS 1: Drew Stafford scored twice and Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 shots to lead host Winnipeg.

NOTES

FLYERS: Defenseman Radko Gudas was suspended for three games by the NHL for an illegal check to Senators forward Mika Zibanejad’s head.

PREDATORS: The Predators placed center Mike Fisher on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

CANUCKS: Center Brandon Sutter has undergone surgery for a sports hernia, and will be out another 4 to 6 weeks.

RANGERS: The Rangers recalled veteran forward Tanner Glass from Hartford of the AHL.
