I keep thinking that at some point one of Gov. Paul LePage’s outrageous acts will be the last straw.

But no, he goes on to trump himself, saying he can’t work with legislators, that he doesn’t have to answer to anyone.

This petty tyrant’s overheated opposition to helping Syrian refugees is only the latest in a litany of uncivil, nasty and disturbing decisions and declarations by a man who seems increasingly unqualified to lead our state.

I wonder when legislators will stop sitting on their hands and find a way to remove a governor who has disgraced the office. By opposing vital services for the needy, vital programs, by opposing protection of the environment, by refusing to follow the will of the people, LePage drags us backward.

I implore the Legislature to take action to put our ship on course.
