York police on Wednesday charged three New Hampshire residents with theft for allegedly taking a backpack from a roofing job site on Long Beach Avenue.

One man also was charged in connection with thefts of firearms from motor vehicles on Thanksgiving.

A witness saw a person take the backpack and get into a small SUV, according to police.

Officers stopped the vehicle a short time later and found the backpack inside.

Dylan Frost, 22, and Delila Frost, 20, both of Dover, New Hampshire, and Eric Winslow, 45, of Rochester, New Hampshire, were each charged with misdemeanor theft.

Police also had suspected Dylan Frost in a series of thefts from vehicles last month. After his arrest Wednesday, Frost confessed and directed police to three stolen firearms, one hidden in the woods, the other two at a residence in Rochester.
