I was in the Biddeford Wal-Mart, quietly standing in line to pay for my purchase when the customer in front of me told the cashier to include my purchase with his.
I was struck speechless. Caught completely off-guard. Our world, our news has been littered lately with atrocities, divisive speech and senseless acts. Yet I am the recipient of unexpected kindness and generosity by a total stranger.
It is very humbling to be on the receiving end of such an act. This gentleman is an example of everything that we should all aspire to be and thankfully he is no doubt one of many who pay it forward. I thank him for reminding me kindness always wins. He made my day.
I said it then, and will do so again, thank you, Doug. And when I pay it forward to someone equally unsuspecting, I will think of you.
