Regarding the stunning announcement on your Dec. 29 front page that operation of the Casco Bay Bridge is now going to a Florida company:
Did all of us recall that Gov. LePage owns a house in Daytona Beach, Florida? As a property taxpayer in Maine, I and others were not allowed to weigh in on this decision.
I hope there will be an outcry and that this “Bridgegate” will stir a move toward further examination and at least laying the matter before Maine voters.
Interesting that in Derry, New Hampshire, recently, LePage was vouching for Chris Christie of New Jersey “Bridgegate” fame, LePage saying that we Americans “need somebody that understands good public policy.”
