The city of Westbrook will host a community forum Thursday on how to defend against and respond to shooting incidents and other acts of violence.
The purpose of the forum is to reassure the community that city and school officials are prepared for such incidents and to provide information to the public about being alert, reporting concerns and responding to acts of violence, according to a news release from Police Chief Janine Roberts.
The forum will be held at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center at Westbrook Middle School from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The forum will a feature a panel of city officials, including Roberts, Superintendent of Schools Marc Gousse, Fire Chief Andrew Turcotte and Director of Emergency Communications Greg Hamilton.
Childcare will be provided in the middle school cafeteria.
Anyone interested in attending who is in need of an interpreter can contact Gousse at goussem@westbrookschools.org or 591-6230 for assistance.
