UNDERHILL, Vt. — Two hikers who were taking part in an endurance trek when they got lost have been rescued.

They were part of Extremists Winter Trek, an endurance hiking group. Vermont State Police say the pair became separated from the group shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday on the Long Trail near Taylor Lodge in Underhill.

Search and rescue teams found the hikers around 5 p.m. Sunday. They were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
