Portland police seized crack cocaine from an apartment on Grant Street on Wednesday after neighborhood complaints about drug trafficking in the area.

Officers from the department’s special reaction team serving a search warrant at 61 Grant St. seized what is described as a significant amount of crack cocaine at 11:20 p.m.

Police investigated after residents in the area alerted police to the presence of drug trafficking.

The team detained 13 people who were in the apartment. Three people fled by jumping through a closed bedroom window and were detained outside. All three sustained injuries from the broken glass and were given medical treatment.

The apartment was apparently being used extensively for trafficking crack cocaine. During the search, 74.8 grams of crack cocaine and $1,053 in cash was seized.

Arrests are expected as the investigation continues, police said.

Amy Brown, 41, of Portland, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines for Class C theft.
