BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Liz Wood recorded her 22nd career double-double to lift the University of Maine women’s basketball team to a 52-38 win over Binghamton in an America East game Saturday.

Wood finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for Maine (16-7, 7-1 America East). The Black Bears forced 20 turnovers and had a 43-28 rebounding edge against the Bearcats (9-12, 4-4).

Sigi Koizar added 14 points, while Lauren Bodine chipped 12 points on four 3-pointers.

TUFTS 68, BATES 53: The Jumbos (17-2, 7-0 NESCAC) opened the fourth quarter with a 14-1 run, including nine points from Melissa Baptista, to pull away from the Bobcats (6-12, 2-5) at Lewiston.

Baptista finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Nina Davenport scored 19 points and Lyse Henshaw added 10 for Bates.

BOWDOIN 62, COLBY 49: Shannon Brady scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Polar Bears (15-5, 4-2 NESCAC) cruised to a win over the Mules (11-8, 3-3) in Waterville.

Kate Kerrigan added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Carylanne Wolfington scored 14 points and MaryKate Caverly had 11 for Colby.

ST. JOSEPH’S 90, ST. JOSEPH (Conn.) 59: The Monks (15-4, 5-0 GNAC) hit 5 of 7 3-pointers in the first quarter and rolled past the Blue Jays (2-17, 1-6) at Standish.

Morgan Cahill became the fifth player in school history to pass the 1,500-point mark and also recorded the 200th block of her career. She finished with 14 points.

Hannah Marks led the Monks with 21 points.

WESTERN CONNECTICUT 76, SOUTHERN MAINE 63: Alecia Dulaire and Samantha Smith each had eight points in the third quarter as the Colonials (13-6, 7-2 Little East) used a 26-10 surge to pull away from the Huskies (11-8, 6-3) in Gorham.

Dulaire and Kaitlyn LaBonte each finished with 16 points to lead the Colonials.

Megan Pelletier had 21 points, six rebounds and three steals for USM. Ella Ramonas added 14 points, while Kayla Stacy chipped in 12 points with four 3-pointers.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 80, NICHOLS 32: The Nor’easters (16-3, 12-0 Commonwealth Coast) went on a 20-1 run in the first six minutes and cruised to a win over the Bison (3-16, 2-10) in Biddeford.

Alanna Vose scored 18 points and became the 23rd player in the history of the program to surpass 1,000-career points.

Alicia Brown also had 18 points and Olivia Shaw chipped in with 15.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

TUFTS 90, BATES 75: Tom Palleschi had 24 points, nine rebounds and five blocks to lead the Jumbos (15-4, 5-2 NESCAC) over the Bobcats (9-10, 2-5) at Medford, Massachusetts.

Mike Boornazian had 24 points and 13 rebounds for Bates.

SOUTHERN MAINE 75, WESTERN CONNECTICUT 69: Atencio Martin had 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Huskies (12-7, 6-3 Little East) over the Colonials (12-7, 6-3) in Gorham.

Zach Leal added 20 points and Jose Nouchanthavong had 14.

ALBERTUS MAGNUS 105, ST. JOSEPH’S 58: Grant Ellis and Marc Wilson each scored 20 as the Falcons (13-3, 9-2 GNAC) beat the Monks (6-13, 3-9) at New Haven, Connecticut.

Ben Malloy led St. Joseph’s with 17 points. Ian Mileikis added 12 points and seven rebounds.

NICHOLS 90, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 64: The Bison (16-3, 10-2 Commonwealth Coast) used a 19-0 run in the opening minutes of the second half to pull away from the Nor’easters (10-9, 5-7) at Biddeford.

Devin Thompson led UNE with 16 points. CJ Autry had 12 points and Gavin Dibble added 11.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

TRINITY 6, COLBY 0: Six players scored as the Bantams (9-7-1, 3-6-1 NESCAC) beat the Mules (5-11-3, 3-8-1) in Hartford, Connecticut.

Angelica Crites made 21 saves for Colby.

MAINE 3, PROVIDENCE 1: Morgan Sakundiak and Alyson Matteau each scored a power-play goal late in the second period as the Black Bears (8-18-2, 4-14-1 Hockey East) beat the Friars (8-18-1, 4-12-1) in Providence, Rhode Island.

Maine’s Audra Richards tied the game early in the second period. Cassidy Carels gave Providence a 1-0 lead in the first.

Meghann Treacy made 24 saves for Maine, while Madison Myers had 21 saves for Providence.

SOUTHERN MAINE 2, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 2: Cassandra Sherman scored an unassisted goal at 7:58 of the third period to help USM (2-14-2) tie the Pilgrims (8-11-1) in Gorham.

The Huskies took a 1-0 lead early in the first period on a goal by Lynn Kozlowski. Rachel Vigliano tied it for NEC and Morgan Braniff gave the Pilgrims the lead in the final minute of the second period.

Lindsay Powers had 25 saves for NEC, while Britney Evangelista made 19 saves for USM.

BOWDOIN 4, WESLEYAN 0: Arianna Bourque scored twice in a span of 1:54 to help the Polar Bears (7-8-2, 4-5-1 NESCAC) beat the Cardinals (4-12-1, 1-8-1) in Brunswick.

Miranda Bell and Julia Dachille also scored for Bowdoin, which scored three times in the second period.

Lan Crofton made 23 saves for the Polar Bears, while Laura Corcoran had 39 saves for Wesleyan.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 2, PLYMOUTH STATE 0: Sydney Helmbrecht made 17 saves as the Nor’easters (11-5-2, 6-4-1 NEC) shut out the Panthers (6-13, 2-9) in Biddeford for their fifth straight win.

Shannon Smith and Julianne Sheehan scored in the third period for UNE.

Emelie Lindqvist had 33 saves for Plymouth State.

MEN’S HOCKEY

BABSON 5, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: The Beavers (15-4-2, 11-2-1 NEHC) scored twice in the first period and three times in the second to beat the Huskies (5-15-1, 2-12) in Babson Park, Massachusetts.

Paul Wagner, Matt McMorrow, Matt Brazel, Mike Vollmin and Max Franklin each scored for Babson.

Matt Pompa stopped 13 shots to earn the win.

Kyle Shapiro had 35 saves for USM.

UMASS-BOSTON 5, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 0: The Beacons (16-3-2, 11-1-1 NEHC) scored three goals in the second period and beat the Nor’easters (11-8-2, 7-6-1) in Boston.

Billy Faust made 27 saves to earn the shutout. Connor Maloney had 49 saves for UNE.
