WEST BATH — Judy Coffin, 74, passed away surrounded by her children on February 1, 2016 after a long battle with COPD. Judy was born on April 18, 1941 in Sebasco, Maine to Edgar and Philena Perry Coffin.

She attended school in Phippsburg, Maine and was employed full-time at age 14, packing fish at The Freezer in Sebasco. Judy was also employed at The Plant Home in Bath, and at Stinsons Canning Plant in Bath. She spent many hours supporting her family by picking crabs, shrimp, and clams and was well known for her “delicious, shell-less crabmeat” which was sold at Gilmores Seafood in Bath.

Survivors include her four children, Janet Marshall and husband Dana of Mount Dora, Florida; Sanford “Bill” Smith and wife Sandra of West Bath; June Perry and husband Timothy of Swanville, Maine; and Joanne Bankowitz and husband Dennis of Astatula, Florida. Grandchildren, Ricky Keenan, Paul Bishop, Correy Smith, Matthew Smith, Nicholas Perry, Dylan Perry, Jessica Reno Thompson, and Eric Reno as well as several great-grandchildren, cousins, and extended family.

There will be no funeral upon her request; a celebration of Judy’s life will be held at later date.
