BATH — Raymond E. Nadeau, 83, of Whiskeag Road died Monday, February 8, 2016 surrounded by family.

He was born in Howland, Maine on June 2, 1932, a son of William and Elva (Duplesea) Nadeau. He went to school in Rockland and Bath and graduated from Morse High School in 1950. He was employed at Bath Box Company and in 1952 entered the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. On May 11, 1953 he married Sylvia Campbell. Ray was employed at Bath Iron Works retiring in 1990.

He was a member of the Polar Star Lodge of Masons in Bath and was also a Registered Maine Guide.

Ray and Sylvia loved spending time at their camp at Thissell Pond, hunting, trout fishing, gardening and especially enjoyed time with family and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Campbell Nadeau on July 4, 2005 and his sister, Geneva Nash, and brothers, Lawrence Nadeau, Francis Nadeau and Millard

Nadeau.

Ray is survived by two sons, Brian D. Nadeau and his wife Rebecca of Bath and Gerald S. Nadeau and his wife Kathleen of Bath, one daughter, Joann M. Mott and her husband Alan of Bath, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephew, including Bruce Merrill of Durham.
