The woman who told police she was raped on a desolate road in Sebago two years ago has been arrested for filing a false report.

On Thursday afternoon, deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lindsay J. Anderson, 34, at her residence in Sebago.

According to Capt. Don Goulet, the arrest stems from a July 2014 incident in which Anderson told police she was car-jacked in the town of Gorham and forced to drive to a remote wooded location in Sebago where she said she was sexually assaulted by two unknown men.

Goulet said the incident was investigated by members of the sheriff’s office for nearly nine months, at which time, the case was presented to the District Attorney’s Office seeking an arrest warrant.

Anderson was transported to the Cumberland County Jail where she was booked. Her bail was set at $3,000 cash.
