AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Taylor Black went 5 for 6 with three RBI and three runs scored as St. Joseph’s College hammered out 24 hits in a 16-4 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at the RussMatt Invitational on Friday.

The Pointers (2-6) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but it was all Monks after that. St. Joseph’s (6-6) led 6-2 after four innings, then piled on 10 runs in the final three innings.

Nic Lops was 4 for 5 with five RBI, and Max McCoomb and Scott Betts each contributed three hits.

UW-WHITEWATER 2, USM 0: Ankur Shah and Matt Langlie combined to hold Southern Maine to six hits as Wisconsin-Whitewater (7-0) shut down the Huskies (6-3) at Auburndale, Florida.

Sam Stauble was 2 for 4 with a stolen base for Southern Maine and has a hit in all nine games this season.

HASTINGS SWEEPS COLBY: Matt Garcia had two hits, including a home run, and two RBI for the Mules (2-8) in a 10-5 loss to the Broncos (8-20) in the first game of a doubleheader at Tucson, Arizona.

Hastings held Colby to a pair of late runs in taking the second game, 12-2.

SALVE REGINA 15, BOWDOIN 4: The Seahawks (4-6) scored in each of the first six innings and easily got past Bowdoin (9-3) at Auburndale, Florida.

SOFTBALL

QUINNIPIAC 4, MAINE 2: Dani Edmands hit a two-run double in the fifth inning to give the Bobcats a 4-0 lead and Quinnipiac (9-12) held on for a win over the Black Bears (8-12) at Hamden, Connecticut.

Maine scored twice in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk by Alyssa Derrick and an RBI single by Felicia Lennon, but Sydney Robey worked out of trouble and finished up for the save.

BOWDOIN 2, HOPE 0: Claire McCarthy and Lauren O’Shea hit back-to-back homers in the top of the seventh to push the Polar Bears past the Flying Dutch (8-3) in their first game of the day at Clermont, Florida.

Julia Geaumont threw a four-hitter for the win.

BOWDOIN 6, WORCESTER STATE 6: Marisa O’Toole went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBI as Bowdoin (9-6-1) played to a tie against the Lancers (4-7-1) in its second game of the day, which was stopped after six innings because of rain.

Bowdoin rallied from a 6-2 deficit in the bottom of the fifth, with O’Toole’s homer and run-scoring doubles by Samantha Valdivia and Julia Geaumont.

MIDDLEBURY 3, USM 2: Kati Daczkowski hit an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to put the Panthers ahead for good in a win over the Huskies at Winter Garden, Florida.

Mary Caron scored both runs for the Huskies, with Samantha Crosman’s single to center in the fourth giving them a 2-1 lead.

The Panthers took advantage of three walks, two wild pitches and two hits to score twice in the bottom of the inning.

USM 8, OBERLIN 6: Morgan Scavetta’s three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth broke open a tie game, propelling the Huskies (9-3) past Oberlin (0-15) in their final game in Florida.

USM made the lead 8-3 with a pair of runs in the sixth as Mary Caron tripled home Courtney Davis and Taylor Lux. Lux was 3 for 4 with two runs scored.
