LISBON

A bicyclist from Lisbon was killed in a collision with a pickup truck Thursday night on Route 196 in Lisbon.

Lisbon police were called to the area of 173 Lisbon St. at approximately 5:12 p.m. for a crash involving a green pickup truck and bicycle.

The bicyclist, 34-year-old Joseph Lamothe, was pronounced dead at the scene according to a press release issued by Lisbon Police Department.

The pickup truck was a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 driven by Henry Raymond Jr., 52, also of Lisbon. Lisbon EMS transported him to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injury.

Maine State Police reconstructed the crash. The Lisbon Street westbound lane was closed for about five hours during the investigation.  

The cause and circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.
