SACO — Eva Gendron, 92, of Saco, formerly of Biddeford, died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Seal Rock Health Care in Saco.

She was born June 24, 1923, in Biddeford, a daughter of Joseph and Emelina (Dubreuil) Roy, and was educated in Biddeford schools.

On March 2, 1946, she married Gerard R. Gendron at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Eva was employed for a few years at the Saco- Lowell Shops, then became a stay-at-home mom to care for her family. After her children were grown, she returned to work for 17 years at Morningstar Corp. in Kennebunk, retiring in 1985.

In her retirement, she enjoyed walking with friends, and was always willing to help her “elderly” neighbors. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and quilting. She also volunteered during the Christmas seasons at the Saco Valley Credit Union wrapping gifts for the needy.

She was preceded in death by her first-born son, Roger Gendron, and by a brother, Leon Roy.

She is survived by: her husband of 70 years, Gerard R. Gendron of Saco; two sons, Donald Gendron and his wife Sandy of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and Phillip Gendron and his wife Laurie of Saco; two daughters, Dorothy D. Dutremble and her husband Dennis, and Cecile M. Roy and her husband Donald all of Biddeford; one sister, Jeannette Bald of Biddeford; one brother, Edouard Roy and his wife Muriel of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
