Letter to the editor: It’s time for Republicans  to consider some amusing advice

The headline “Republicans stay silent as Trump sounds off on abortion” (Portland Press Herald, March 30) is deafening. Perhaps the Republicans should consider the advice of that puckish Irishman Spike Milligan, who said it best: “Contraceptives should be used on every conceivable occasion.” Now that policy may enjoy bipartisan support.
