Two recent articles made me think about Gov. LePage.

On March 29, Steve Mistler wrote about governors’ salaries, indicating that Gov. LePage is the lowest-paid governor in the country. On April 1, Kevin Miller wrote that the governor canceled the swearing-in of Susan Deschambault, a Democrat who was recently elected to the Senate for District 32. (She was sworn in Tuesday.)

My initial thought was, “Perhaps we are paying him too much!” My second thought was, “Maybe we should stop paying him altogether until he starts doing his job.”

I think his behavior is an affront to the voters of District 32 and to the people of Maine. Like many Republicans, the governor seems to have a problem with doing his job and with serving the will of the people.
