SACO — The Margaret Murphy Centers for Children celebrated the grand opening of its new school on April 13, at 60 Industrial Park Road, Saco. The new school will serve students ages 3 to 20 who cannot access the range or intensity of services needed in their public schools. MMCC, primarily located in the Lewiston-Auburn area, opened its first state -approved special purpose program in 2000 with three students. Sixteen years later, it has expanded to nine sites, and serves nearly 170 students. Saco is its first venture outside of the central Maine area.
