White: UFC not for sale, but will ‘talk’ for $4 billion

Although UFC President Dana White explained again Wednesday that the mixed martial arts behemoth is not for sale, he left plenty of wiggle room.

“We’re not up for sale,” White said, who is from Maine. “We’re always working on deals and our expansion globally. I’ve been saying since this thing came out, no, we’re not for sale, but let me tell you what. If somebody shows up with $4 billion, we can talk. We can definitely talk.”

According to ESPN, “somebody” may have shown up with something like that kind of cash. Darren Rovell reported Tuesday there were at least four bidders while talks were in the “advanced” stage.

Brothers Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta, who own more than 80 percent of the privately held company, purchased it for $2 million in 2001. .
