The Gorham Town Council will conduct a hearing to receive public comments about the municipal and school budgets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, in Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St.

The School Department is proposing a $36.5 million budget, up 4.04 percent; and the proposed municipal budget is $13.6 million, up 3.3 percent. Additionally, the Cumberland County tax is $1,044,423, up $46,454. The new budgets are for the fiscal year beginning Friday, July 1.

The Town Council will consider a vote on the municipal and school budgets Tuesday. If the panel approves the school budget, it will require validation by Gorham voters in a referendum on Tuesday, June 14.
