Seven freshman from South Portland High School went to the University of Maine recently as part of the UMO/4H collaborative – Connecting Kids to Campus. The aim of the program is to have middle- and high-school students become familiar with the Orono campus and what it has to offer. The students stay in dorm rooms overnight, eat at the dining halls and attend workshops presented by professors.
