The WMC has released its lists of spring season sports awards, and a number of Gray-New Gloucesterites earned First-Team, Second-Team, Honorable Mention and All-Academic laurels.

Softball
WMC First Team – Alexa Thayer (P), Alie Martel (P/SS)
WMC Second Team – Hannah Dixon (SS)

The Lady Patriots contribute two young standouts in Thayer, a freshman, and Martel, a sophomore. The pair join a talented roster that also includes Mari Cooper (P) and Eleanor O’Gorman (1B) of Yarmouth, Anya Chase (P/SS) and Sara Ring (1B) of Wells, Tess Haller (C) of Cape Elizabeth, Britney Gregoire (C/SS) of Kennebunk, Kelsey Currier (P) and Kayley Cimino (OF/P) of Greely, and more. Dixon on the Second Team joins the likes of Bailey Karnes (SS/P) of Freeport, Colleen Sullivan (CF) of Yarmouth, Olivia Clay (OF) of Wells and others.

Boys Outdoor Track
WMC First Team – Ben Garcia (1600), Tucker Pierce (3200), Zack Haskell (200/High Jump)
WMC Second Team – Zack Haskell (100)
WMC All-Academic Team – Tyler Davis, Max Lambert, Garrett Moran

Garcia joins Chandler Vincent of Freeport on the 1600 First Team, while Jeremiah Sands of Falmouth and Dalan Hubbard of Traip comprise the Second Team in the same event. Sands is Pierce’s First-Team partner in the 3200, while Patrick Carty of Fryeburg and Mitch Stapleton of Wells follow them at Second Team. Haskell’s First-Team matches are Matt Polewaczyk of Falmouth in the 200 and Marcus DeVoe of Lake Region in the High Jump, while his Second-Team match is Matt Concannon of Cape.

WMC All-Academic – Keeley Arnold, Emily Dawkins, Olivia Giles, Chloe Hedrich, Tram Ho, Melody Larson, Clara Phillips, Scout Ray, Emilie Sanborn, Samantha Shampine

Phillips joins Adelaide Cooke of Falmouth on the First-Team Shot Put contingent, and the First-Team Discus contingent as well; meanwhile, Post’s First-Team 100 mate is Leah Desjardins of Poland. Giles on the Second Team joins Hannah Berzinis of Falmouth; Post joins Jocelyn Mitiguy of Greely; Martin joins Morgan Smith of York; McCallum joins Sam DeSouza of Lake Region; Stritch joins Reilley Smedly of York; Ray joins Maggie McCormick of Greely; Hedrich joins Meghan Charest of Falmouth, and Dawkins joins Madison Tait of Falmouth.
