CLAREMONT, N.H. — Lillian T. Whittemore, 75, of Claremont, New Hampshire, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

She was born in Man-chester, New Hampshire, on March 16, 1941, the daughter of Emile and Lorraine (LeClair) Therriault.

Lillian was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in the Class of 1959 and the New Hampshire School of Nursing in Concord.

She worked as a registered nurse in New York state and Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She retired from Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont in 1997 after 29 years of nursing.

Lillian was a member of Catholic Daughters and the Claremont Bridge Club. She enjoyed playing classical piano and card games.

She was a very caring and giving person, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by: her husband, Ronald C. Whittemore, whom she married on Nov. 24, 1962; a daughter, Deborah L. Whittemore and her fiancé Richard Vondreden of Claremont; two brothers-in-law, Roger Whittemore of Claremont and Larry Whittemore of Broomfield, Colorado; and many cousins.

Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont.

The Catholic Daughters will conduct a prayer service at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church with Father George Majka officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. Joseph Church or to Shriners Hospital.
