The Bridgton Historical Society has a number of events for children and adults planned for the month of July.
Every Wednesday morning through though Aug. 24, the society hosts a walking tour of downtown Bridgton with Margaret Reimer and Caroline Grimm. The tour starts at 10 a.m. at the museum at 5 Gibbs Ave.
On July 19, the society will host “Visiting Bridgton’s Past,” a show of magic lantern slides and period photographs at the Gibbs Avenue museum.
At the Peabody-Finch Homestead at Narramissic, from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, children will have a chance to learn about life in the 1950s through old-time games and activities.
Also at the homestead, demonstrations of old-fashioned laundry methods will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 10 a.m. On Friday, July 29, visitors can tour the house and watch the blacksmith work, all with a backdrop of old-time music.
