I have recently seen TV spots featuring the CEO of Charter Communications, the company that bought Time Warner Cable. These spots promise improved customer service and enhanced programming.

On the first point, I must say that improved customer service compared to Time Warner is not difficult to achieve.

What is not mentioned in these promotions is that there will be a significant cost increase. My bill for the upcoming month is 14 percent higher than previous months.

I have no premium channels included in my service. I can only hope that no further “enhancements” are forthcoming!
