A Raymond man is facing charges in two cases of sexual assault against juvenile females, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Anthony Shawn Pierson, 21, was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 5:15 p.m., after a young woman at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford reported she had been sexually assaulted in Raymond.

Police said the victim informed the detective she met a man online, and agreed to meet him in person. The man took her to his residence in Raymond, where she fell asleep and awoke to the suspect forcing himself on her.

Pierson was arrested for gross sexual assault, a Class A crime.

He was also arrested on a charge of unlawful sexual contact, a Class C crime, and allowing minors to consume alcohol (Class D) for a case reported in June 2016 by a different female minor.

Pierson is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned in the Cumberland County District Court on Friday.
