I urge readers to support state Sen. Cathy Breen, D-Falmouth, for re-election in District 25 (Falmouth, Yarmouth, Cumberland, Chebeague, Gray, Long Island, and part of Westbrook). Cathy has been a model legislator – smart, hard-working, deeply committed to the district – and a strong voice for moving the state forward. Her work on the Environmental and Natural Resources Committee has been exemplary. She’s been a leader in the effort to keep Maine green and clean for this generation and the next. Her opponent, a former Georgia legislator who voted to restrict the Georgia Board of Natural Resource’s authority to regulate air pollution and permit homeowners to use deadly force even when not threatened, would be a massive step backward. The last thing we need is another Republican legislator who will embolden our reckless (or worse) governor and his extreme pro-gun, backward-looking, anti-environment agenda. I urge you to support Cathy Breen.
