Falmouth police say the driver of a large sport utility vehicle left Middle Road, drove over a curb, hit a telephone pole and smashed into two parked cars before striking a garage Monday evening.

Police said the driver of a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban and a passenger were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.

The accident took place near the Emmaus Lutheran Church.

No one in the home at 263 Middle Road was injured as a result of the crash, which was reported at 6:25 p.m. Damage to the garage was described as significant.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
