BIDDEFORD — Hannah Buckley and Vonde Saunders each had a goal and an assist as the University of New England earned a 7-0 win over Nichols College in a college field hockey game Tuesday.

Seven players scored for UNE (10-2, 6-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference), which outshot Nicholas (1-10, 0-6) 37-0. UNE also did not allow a penalty corner.

Buckley opened the scoring at 4:07, Kendra MacDonald followed, and Sanders and Marge Gardiner rounded out the scoring in the first half.

Kersey Boulay converted a penalty stroke 3:59 into the second half, while Liz Clark and Morgan Kelly also scored.

ST. JOSEPH’S 1, THOMAS 0: Hayley Winslow scored the only goal with 3:12 to play in regulation as the Monks (4-5) edged the Terriers (3-7) in a non-conference match at Waterville.

Abbie Charrier stopped three shots for Thomas, while Megan Baker had a pair of saves for the Monks.

MEN’S SOCCER

UNE 2, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 0: Ryan Stephens put a low shot inside the left post at the 22:12 mark to give the University of New England an early lead and the Nor’easters went on to blank the Beavers in a non-conference match at home.

Nick Paine extended the lead with a header off Lee Esposito’s corner kick in the 59th minute.

Both goalies, UMaine-Farmington’s Ronie Morales and UNE’s Nate Delesdernier stopped five shots.

The Nor’easters are 2-6-4 while the Beavers fall to 2-8.

ST. JOSEPH’S 0, KEENE ST. 0: The Monks and the Owls played to a scoreless draw in a non-conference match at Standish.

Jason Smith stopped five shots for the Owls (6-4-41) while Blake Mullen had three saves for the Monks (9-1-3).

COLBY 2, MAINE MARITIME 1: Jefferey Lin scored an unassisted goal 5:08 into overtime as the Mules edged the Mariners in a non-conference match at Waterville.

After a scoreless first half, Kyle Douglas scored unassisted to give Colby (4-4-2) the lead at the 47:37 mark, but Ike Doiron answered with an unassisted goal for Maine Maritime (4-6-1) with 28:35 to play in regulation.

Marshall Spear turned aside 12 shots for the Mariners, while Stanley Clarke made three saves for the Mules.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

SMCC 3, CENTRAL MAINE CC 2: Hannah Fields and Samantha Munson each scored first-half goals as the Seawolves (1-0-0, 1-0-0 YSCC) held on to beat the Mustangs (0-1-0, 0-10) in Auburn.

Fields broke the scoring open in the 25th minute with an unassisted goal. Munson followed six minutes later, but Megan Duval scored off a feed from Ellie Jasper for the Mustangs to make it 2-1 at halftime.

Madison Simms extended the Seawolves lead to 3-1 with an unassisted goal. Duval put in her second goal of the game in the 90th minute.
