Lily Posternak, York field hockey: The senior midfielder continued to lead the Wildcats as they extended their winning streak to 49 games. She totaled seven goals and two assists in two games, including five goals in a 6-1 victory against Cape Elizabeth.

HONORABLE MENTION

Josephine Ek, Traip Academy cross country: The freshman became the first female runner from Traip to win a meet in at least 17 years when she finished first in a five-team meet at Fort Foster with a time of 19 minutes, 23 seconds over the 3.1-mile course.

Rachel Smith, Greely golf: The freshman shot a 74 to place third overall and lead the Rangers to the team championship in the SMAA team and individual qualifier at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro

Jordyn Cowan, Scarborough volleyball: The senior had a big week to help the Red Storm improve to 10-1. She had nine kills and four blocks in a win over Falmouth and then eight kills in a win over Greely.

Michael Laverriere, Thornton Academy football: The senior QB had a hand in 246 of the Trojans’ 266 yards of total offense in a 34-19 win over Scarborough. He rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns and also passed for one touchdown.

HONORABLE MENTION

Luke Laverdiere, Yarmouth cross country: The junior won the Festival of Champions by 18 seconds with a time of 15 minutes, 33 seconds. He averaged a 5:00-mile pace.

Quinn Clarke, Portland soccer: The junior defender scored a goal in each of the Bulldogs’ two wins last week, including the game-winner with 10 minutes remaining in the game that provided a 2-1 victory over Scarborough.

Dylan Bolduc, Portland football: The senior running back rushed for more than 230 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Bulldogs came from behind to defeat Cheverus, 35-27.
