A man who apparently was stabbed in South Portland on Friday morning suffered only minor injuries, but police still do not know what occurred because the man was too intoxicated to be interviewed, police said.

The victim, who was not identified, called for help about 8 a.m. Police were dispatched to the area of Rollins Way in Brick Hill.

The incident is not considered random, said police Sgt. Steven Webster, in a statement, who offered few other details because of the victim’s state.
