I am voting “yes” on Question 1 to stop people from suffering when they need access to medical marijuana but cannot get it.

After serving my country overseas, I returned to Maine to raise a family in the state I love. My life is full – I recently retired from work in Maine’s education and retail industries, and now spend time with family and volunteer for many local groups.

I’ve successfully treated my aches and pains with medical marijuana. I also use cannabis to stabilize my mood and help me relax, and I enjoy it socially too.

For many Maine adults like me, the cost of a medical marijuana recommendation is out of reach. With a “yes” vote on Question 1 this November, Maine adults will have the option of using marijuana without a doctor’s recommendation. It is time for a new approach. It is time to regulate and tax marijuana in Maine.
