Forecasts for rain on Friday and Saturday have forced juggling of some high-profile high school sports events.

Two football games matching unbeaten teams – Thornton Academy at Bonny Eagle in Class A South and Cape Elizabeth at Wells in Class C South – have been moved to 6 p.m. on Friday instead of 7 p.m.

The Greely at Falmouth football game has been moved from Friday evening to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Maine Principals’ Association has moved regional finals in high school field hockey from Tuesday to Wednesday next week.

The MPA cited “inclement weather predicted for Friday and Saturday” – when regional semifinals are scheduled – as the reason for the switch. Presumably, some of the regional semifinals may need to be played on Monday instead.

The South regional finals will be played at Massabesic High. The North regional finals will be at Hampden Academy.
