I am writing to urge your readers to vote for Jim Means for state legislator from Gorham.

After I move to Maine and bought a home and business in Gorham, Jim was one of the first people I met. He immediately impressed with his knowledge of the issues affecting the town and his concern for making Gorham and Maine a better place for families and for business.

As a longtime resident of Gorham, former businessman, Scout leader and sportsman, Jim is deeply immersed in the activities of the town. He shows his commitment through regular attendance at town committee meetings, as the former vice chairman of the Gorham Economic Development Corp. and as a leader on the Gorham Republican Committee. Jim is a fiscal conservative dedicated to controlling state spending and reducing taxes on families and businesses. Protecting the rights of outdoors enthusiasts, opposing outside influence on issues such as background checks and marijuana legalization, improving education opportunities and finding solutions to the growing opioid problem in Maine are all priorities he champions.

Jim is a common-sense leader who is committed to the idea of a citizen Legislature. As a retiree, he is ready to work full time for the people of Gorham and is not splitting his time with another job like many state legislators. His only motivation for serving is to make Gorham and Maine a better place. Join me in voting for Jim Means for state representative.

Bill Benson,

Colonel (retired), U.S. Army
