AARON CARLTON, LEFT, AND STEPHEN BACKMAN each recently received the Brunswick Rotary’s “Service Above Self” award exemplifying their strong community service qualities. They are both seniors at Brunswick High School and both are members of the Brunswick High School Varsity Football team. Carlton is in the top 5 percentage of his class, a member of the National Honor Society, active in the Action Team, vice-president of the senior class and a three-season athlete. Backman is active in the Unified Basketball Program and the Action Team, president of the senior class and mentors special ed students at the high school. They are both also involved in the Brunswick Area Youth Football League and often are seen there at the end of their school day after classes and their own football practice assisting the junior high football players.
