What is racism? Dictionary.com defines it as “a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.”

Racism is wrong. The idea that whites are superior to other racial groups is wrong. All men and women are created equal.

Yet one of the president-elect’s top advisers, Stephen Bannon, has been endorsed by the Ku Klux Klan, a racist, white supremacist organization with a history of terrorism against African-Americans.

The KKK’s endorsement, plus many other factors, means Bannon does not belong in the White House as an adviser. This is shocking and completely unacceptable.

It is time for all people who think that racism and white supremacy are wrong, including our elected leaders, to speak out. The time is now, not later.
